Gord and I had supper this evening with his son, Ken, at Rebel's Rock Irish Pub.

Gord and I both had wings.  Gord's were Lemon Pepper.  He said they were good and he'd get them again.  I ordered Asian Garlic.  Mine too were good.

Ken ordered a Grilled Cheese with Bacon with Jamaican chips.  He said the sandwich was good but a bit burnt.

Morgan was our server and she took good care of us.

It's a cute pub and we'll be back!

Went there yesterday (Friday Dec 28, 2018). Ordered a pint of Guinness and  " Dressed Chips
Chips covered with crumbled Irish Stilton, fresh Rosemary, thyme, & Pepper"
The pint was lovely, but the fries were a disaster. I'm not even going to mention the $8 plus tax price. The fries themselves were very good, fried in the traditional way, but the toppings were disgusting. The Stilton was fabulous, but the whole mess was burried under DRIED NOT FRESH rosemary and thyme. It tasted awful and too dry to eat. I guess no one told the idiot chef that dried herbs are generally twice as potent as the sweet fresh variety. I could not eat it. So I thought some gravy might help. Ordered some ($2.75 good for you). but it only made it WORSE. Now the dried herbs were rehydrating and totally overpowering everything even more. It is quite a trick to drown out the flavour of a blue cheese.

To make matters worse, when I asked for the bill the bartender took away my almost full plate and said nothing. I mentions to her that in my experience as a chef and pub owner when a customer hardly touches a dish it is appropriate to ask if there was anything wrong. Her answer was that I ate most of it. I thought she was making a joke but then I saw a stupid smirk on her face, tacitly telling me to fuck off, she doesn't care.

The kitchen needs a shakeup, and this bitch should be terminated. This is NOT the Irish hospitality I have come to know and enjoy.  Pathetic.

Went in with family visiting from Toronto, for lunch on St. Patricks Day.  Great atmosphere, great decorations for the occasion.  Great crowd.  Lousy food.

I had the coconut curry stew, smelled alright, but really lacked a depth of flavour.   I imagined that the chicken  would be boneless, it was not, there were about 3 bone-in thighs.  The sauce was very loose, soupy even, not the creaminess I was expecting.

My sister had the fish and chips.  She complained the fries tasted "reheated" and the fish was ok.  Not a stand out.

My mom had the colcannon, being Irish, this is not the first time she has had this dish.  The cabbage had not been cooked through before being added to the potatoes.  It was unpleasantly stringy.

Because it was St. Paddy's, we were asked to pay for our order when the order was placed.  We were thinking dine and dashers.  I now suspect it had to do with the quality of the food.  2 teas,  2 glasses of water, 2 fish and chips, one colcannon and 1 coconut curry stew, with tip and taxes, just under $80.  Sooooo not worth it.  The service was pleasant.

From the outside this place seem's like your local neighborhood hangout but when entering this establishment I found it to be much more then that. Rebel's Rock has a comfortable "mom I'm home" feeling. It's small, quaint and classic. Perfect way to finish a romantic night with your hubby. The night I attended the crowed was warm and inviting. The dress here is causal all of the ladies very nicely dressed and gentleman stylish. This bar reminded me of the Durby or the Elpine which are now closed down but they were one of the best spots to have fun without the worry.

I attended Rebel's Rock to see Robin Benedict. If your ever in this area check out where Robin is playing. Robin has that cut through to your soul kind of raspy voice like Janis Joplin and Adele she's amazing. You can YouTube her to see more.

I also heard they have an amazing fish and chip. I'm a big fan of fish and chips so can't wait to try these out and let you guy's know.

Oh an ending note Happy Birthday Rebel's Rock they night I attending it was there 13th years that's wonderful.

5/5 stars here, no debate. Food is always perfect, and staff are courteous and friendly. They have the largest selection of tap beer I've ever seen, and I've never been disappointed here, ever. I've brought many friends and family here and everyone has loved it. Great atmosphere; you won't find many places like this anymore. My favourite entree is either lamb shank, or wings and a brew. They have karaoke at night and live music once a week I believe, and it's a great time at night. Only downside is that it's downtown Hamilton in a rather rough area. The patio is smaller, and with the majority of downtown smoking, it's not advisable to sit outside. Aside from everything, it's always worth visiting.
